Only companies that meet the criteria below will be forwarded to shortlisting:
- £5m+ Series A
AND/OR
£1.5m-£5m revenue
20% month-on-month growth
Headquartered in UK
Commitment from Founder to actively participate in the programme
Application Judging
Applications will be scored by our panel of judges on the following criteria:
1. Value Proposition - Have you communicated the problem you solve effectively? What impact does your solution have - does it answer a clear need?
2. Current Traction - What progress have you made in the last 12 months? How do you measure your success?
3. Potential for Scale - Is the applicant at the scale-up stage and ready for the next stage of growth?
4. International Expansion - Does the applicant demonstrate plans to expand nationally or internationally?
5. Programme Value - Will Upscale add significant and relevant value to help achieve the company's ambitions and tackle their challenges?
Judges Advice
What makes a good Upscale company?
Clearly demonstrate your traction and achievements - tell the judges what your successes have been.
Be authentic. The desire to genuinely open up and share with and learn from peers will help you stand out.
Use facts. The more data points that you can add, the better.
Demonstrate how you can cross borders or jump into new product lines, as well as operate at scale.
What separates a good application from a great one?
Honesty and ambition. A desire to scale an amazing business, but humility about the luck and help needed to do so.
Put time and effort into your answers. Find a balance between quick one line answers and lengthy paragraphs which don’t clearly answer the question.
Tell us why you should be considered for the programme and what you feel you would get out of it.
